Success of Taylor Wimpey Spanish homes exhibition despite heavy
early morning snow fall!
A covering of snow early on the morning (21st February) of our
Taylor Wimpey exhibition at the Strathallan Hotel in Birmingham did
nothing to deter a number of serious prospective buyers, clearly
determined to take advantage of the substantial exhibition
discounts of up to 40% and to get the hotel whatever the
weather!
Investabroad Properties Managing Director Peter Veitch admits to
a loud groan and a few choice words when he looked out of his
bedroom window at 5.30 in the morning to see some three inches of
snow. “I really thought that we were in for a complete
disaster” he said, “but how wrong I was!
“True, the numbers were well down on what we were
expecting and I’m sure would have had, but the determination
of our visitors to get to the show come what may, in some cases
having driven considerable distances, and their obvious knowledge
and focus when they arrived, was a clear indication that promoting
Taylor Wimpey of Spain will be a success, whatever the
circumstances!”
Indeed, visitors to the show had driven from as far as Leicester
and Northamptonshire to get to the event and were rewarded for
their efforts by being able to spend more time with the Taylor
Wimpey agents than might otherwise have been the case. “The
unexpected snow fall was something of a blessing in disguise”
said Peter Veitch. “It is quite probable that, had we had
many more visitors whose interest was more of a casual nature,
there would have been much less time to spend with those who came
with the intention of adding to their existing knowledge and
discussing the arrangements for an inspection visit”.
Inspection visits already arranged
Inspection visits to both the Costa del Sol and Mallorca have
already been arranged as a result of the exhibition and we at

year for Taylor Wimpey products, despite the continuing uncertainty

Wimpey, those days have come to an end and it is now time to get
into the market.
“This situation has come at an opportune time for, quite
simply, many people have simply had enough of waiting and now just
want to get on with enjoying the benefits of owning a property in
Spain. Of course, Spain continues to have its own economic
problems, but the fundamentals which have been attracting British
buyers for so many years have not changed. The climate is still
great, the infrastructure is excellent and most people rate its
health service as far better than that of the UK.
“Furthermore, it hasn’t moved! You can still fly to
Malaga and Palma in two and a half hours from most UK airports, so
it is still perfectly feasible to have a long weekend at your
holiday home in the sun”.

Although some of the discounts offered by Taylor Wimpey were
specifically for the exhibition and have now been withdrawn, others
